Ray,
One more suggestion. If your turntable motor does have a "stepped" armature 
and the idler is running on the smaller diameter, the three rubber motor 
mounts may be compressed from age, allowing the motor to drop down. I find 
this to be the case with older Rowe jukeboxes. I haven't located correct 
replacements yet, but a temporary fix is to remove the e-clip retainers one 
at a time, push the motor up, and slip a 3/16" flat washer under each e-clip 
to keep the motor where it belongs. The downside may be an audible motor 
rumble. Rowe and Rockola turntable motors are identical except for the step, 
and the rubber mounts are identical except for the color.
