Gary,
  Look at the selection pin when you have this problem. I suspect that the pin will not have canceled fully. If that is the case, check the switch ( a Micro on that model--I think) that powers the pin cancel solenoid. You might also check the DC power supply.Ron Rich

down at the start of the record. The sound goes back
to normal when the record rejects and goes onto the
next selection.
