Seeburg went to a box, vs. a bag with the 1967, LS-1, only because of the paper dollar acceptor. The SS-160 used the a bag for the coins, and a metal lockable box, located inside the cabinet for the paper. Their design people thought that all the money should go into the cashbox, with the door on the outside of the cabinet. The thinking was that the "crooks" would ruin the cabinet going after the paper dollars on the phono inside.  The box was used as the bag would "jam-up" with the paper and coins in it. Ron Rich

of small operators from using Seeburg.

The first 12 years I worked here there were no "security measures", like a 
meter, used. The boss had a nose for what a location should be running and 
could "pre-check" the location ahead of a suspected crooked routeman and 
catch him red-handed....
