[Jukebox-list] Ebay France

Gerald,

I have seen a few Scopitones but not that model. A
couple working ones used to show up at the loose
Change Funfair in Pasedena, California years ago.
They had some singers like Leslie Gore, Neil Sedaka
and others on film. There were some racy films as
well. Some operators put some porno films on them too
but I suppose they lacked sound so that made them a
video player instead of a jukebox when such a film was
selected. The guys probably never missed the music!

They had a advertising campaign with some neat paper
items and a small penlight sort of shaped like a
Scopitone.

I bought a Scopitone, for $10, a couple of years ago
and parted it out. It was full of films and mostly
complete. Big and very heavy! I think I still have a
couple of the films. If I remember correctly the best
ones were made in France and a lesser model was made
in America.

A very interesting machine and such a novelty.

David Wendell
