[Jukebox-list] 147 and 148

They went gradualy from wood cabinets to metal. The 146 had a wooden door,
which was mostly updated with the metal door from the 147. Early 147 are
wood, later are metal.
All 148 I have seen were blonde metal, with the fluted dome.
But I know from experience that you can sometimes find deviations from the
regular. I think they simply sold what they had in stock, and if the year
was 1948 but they still had some darkgrained cabinets, they wouldn't bother
to redo them blonde and certainly not scrap them because they were the wrong
colour - they would sell them anyway. Likewise I wouldn't be surprised if
there are a few blonde 147s out there.
So - there are blonde 1426 Rockolas and dark 1428s - but they are not
common. The blonde grained 1426 I saw (grained just like a 1428) culd even
have been the only one.
