David,
I would suggest that you purchase a set of manuals for the machine--and maybe a copy of my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide", and familarize yourself on the unit prior to doing anything else. They are available from many sources including www.alwaysjukin.com .
If I understand your problem, it could be a mechanical or electrical problem. Oil is most likely the cause if it's mechanical. Either lack of oil, or the use of incorrect oil can cause it. If electrical, the most likely suspect would be a bad 2050 trip tube. If it's mechanical, do not operate it until you determine and cure the problem, as it can, in some cases, cause further damage.
If you have "lubricated" (what I am thinking is) "the tracks", you have done something that never should be done. The "tracks" that the carriage rides on, should be clean and dry, so that the rollers roll, rather then slide.

Thanks Ron, much appreciated for your quick response and help. I did oil the tracks, so I'll clean them first thing. The 2050 is ok as per checking it with my Precision 9-66 tube tester.

Thanks again Ron
