I've run into a guy who has had modern boards made up. I've seen a
sample, and they are first rate quality.
His name is Jack McGill, and he can be reached at Jack McGill

I believe he's going to be taking some to the Chicago show this month.

I have seen "burned boards", however, I don't think that I have ever
seen it happen, from "tube heat" to any K/L phono that had the large
shield in place, over the tubes. I have never seen a board "go up in
flames"--just evidence of heat applied to the board. I have seen them
develop a short between traces, and burn a hole totally thru a board, in
which case, the repair is to just cut out the burned area, and leave the
hole. I have also seen a few where the connector trace has burned off
the board. Ron Rich

works just fine. I rebuild all the boards as well
and replaced the card edge connectorsl. However, a word of caution if
you are using the original boards. I've heard stories of people leaving
these machines on for extended periods of time and the tubes get so hot
the they can catch the boards on fire! Apparently this was new
technology for the time and the circuit boards are made from a
compressed paper like material that will burn unlike the modern circuit
boards we have today.
Take care,

regarding this model stating that they are trouble pron and not a good
choice for refurbishing. So naturally - not being a good listener - I
sent the boards out to be rebuilt. I am happy to report that it is alive
and well. After the usual troubleshooting (a bad plug, a loose plug and
a bad tube) it selects fine - plays and sounds good. I am now starting
the clean up.

bottoms of each button are covered with a white substance. It looks like
lubriplate grease that has dried up leaving only the wax base. My
question is, is coating these with grease standard upon assembly or was
this an operators trick to ensure the buttons would not stick on
location. I have never done a Seeburg before so this is probably a
stupid question. My guess is I should clean them and reassemble them
dry. Also does anybody know a source for the flat springs at the top of
each button?
