Hi Ed,
Yes--and no. On a "C" and all pinbank models, you only have one tube. It's a 2050, and is used only to operate the stepper. If you have no wallbox on the phono, there is no reason to have it "burning". On the Tormat models (other than the original "V"), this also applies to the 2050--however you do need the rest of the tubes. I would also suggest that you remove the 3 or 3 & 2/10 amp fuse, as it is for wallbox use also, and removing it turns the second (wallbox) transformer "off", a slight power savings.
