The LS1 was made in 68 or 68. I appreciate your input, it is basically the
same thing that Ron said only with a lot more detail I especially
appreciate you were telling me that if the volume control is unplugged the
jukebox will run full blast. I was about to start doing voltage checks all
over the amplifier out of desperation.

I'm glad the two of you kept me on track. The amplifier is a complete
self-contained unit with the volume control mounted on the back side and a
six or 7 pin connector coming from the back of the volume control, through
the front side of the abattoir, and then back into the front and plugging
in. I'll double and triple check the whole volume control circuit. Again
thanks for getting back to me.

John,
How old is that machine?

I have an aux volume control on the floor of my RO 474 (1978). This way,
the one on the back is disabled. I think the one on the floor is probably
part of the remote volume control system, but it has a knob and everything.
If I recall, with neither vol. control plugged into the amplifier, the amp
runs at full blast.

Anyway, if you have a plug on your amp for the volume control, trace it to
make sure it leads to the volume control on the back of the machine (I
assume the one you're using). You may find that it leads elsewhere (to an
aux. volume control) or is unplugged from the amp.

The sound is running at max volume on both channels on this Rock-Ola Amp
52280-A amplifier. When I first pulled the amplifier out of the jukebox it
had a loud hum. I changed all the electrolytic caps, including the ones in
the cans. That cleared up all the buzzing and humming, but it left me with
a loud volume problem. Later, owner told me that that was his original
problem, it was playing loud and they could not turn it down. This new
information tells me that the problem was not any of the changes that I
made. I haven't done a lot of amplifier work, so, I'm not quite sure where
to start,- with the exception of checking the voltages according to the
schematic. The volume controls ome out okay.

Anybody have any thoughts on this? I could use any suggestions.

John
