I sent this to Ron Rich but I keep getting your thanks so I thought I would send this to all.
 
I really appreciate all the kind comments. I am actually Canadian military but I think that by being on a UN mission I am actually serving all our countries.  On this mission we have quite a mix of countries serving including Canadian, US, British, French, Swiss, Belgian, Russian, Serbian, Croatian, Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Moroccan, Tunisian, Nepalese, Ghanaian, Uruguayan, Guatamalen, Kenyan and the list goes on.  The top dog is Ambassador Swing an American Ambassador.
 
The US is starting to take a keener interest in Africa and are about to set up Africa Command (AFRICOM).  The US is also helping directly with a crisis here right now between rebel forces and government troops by facilitating dialogue through an envoy.
 
Every day in Africa is interesting, and working in the UN is not always easy, but we are making progress!
