Hi,

With regards to the rewiring of the output package transformer, the person
doing the rewind will take apart the metal core of the transformer, these E
and I laminates will be reused so not many should be damaged (one or two at
most).

The winding on the bobbin will be taken off and counted turn for turn on the
primary and secondary windings making a note on the number of turns to each
tapping.

The wire used on each winding will be sized using a micrometer in order to
get the correct wire. If space on the bobbin was not an issue then a
slightly larger current wire could be used on both the primary and secondary
windings (the construction of transforms depends on ampere turns and iron
core mass)

Having a transformer rewound is an expensive job to have done, it is a one
off and it involves a great deal of time.
