Thanks, John. That is where I thought I would start--but I am looking for "more ideas" as I can't envision how those switches could cause the fuse to blow. Ron Rich

The single most common problem with the older AMI machines are the 
switch stacks that control the gripper motor and cancel solenoids. I 
recommend cleaning them first, then seeing if the problem persists.

These contacts are the blade switches that are to the right of the tone 
arm, beside and activated by the tone arm cam.

Later (J?, K?, Continental +) series replaced them with microswitches 
and got rid of that problem.
