Hi Jackie,
  Are 100% sure that the pin is canceled ? Did you look at both the "inner" and "outter" selector crank arms ? If so, try pushing the arm "backwards" ( CCW ), and allowing it to "snap" forward. When you push it you should see the switch it activates. Note if that switch is working. If just snapping" the arm "fixes" the problem for now, I would suspect that either the switch is sticky, or, more likely, your "backstop pawl(s)" are dirty--or someone has oiled them. They need to be clean and dry.

The pin is canceled but then the song is over it rejects, returns the record to the basket and then picks it up again....over and over. If you make another selection, the correct pin is pulled but the magazine doesnt move, it just repeats the same record.
