[Jukebox-list] Seebur A Lift Arm Troubles

I'm working on my first ever Seeburg A (on 78's) that I picked up last week. Boy is this different from the B mech. Anyway, this is a clean working machine with one problem - the lift arm won't retract enough and just barely scrapes the records as it scans. I cannot adjust the eccentric screw any more to lower it enough. Last night I removed the lift arm and re-installed it one tooth off on the gear (thinking a previous owner may have installed it wrong), but then it retracted too far and bound up against the support. I tried to move the eccentric screw the opposite way to compensate, but it wouldn't raise it enough. I really don't want to add washers under the record rack, but that's all I can think of at the moment. Can anyone help? Thanks,
Jim
