John,
  I agree it needs that oil in there. There are actually three holes in the "record holder" (movable) portion on the 200 select (and maybe late smaller models?-Don't recall) models. One of the holes is elongated, and using this hole makes it much easier to see the oil hole underneath. Wurly did a real smart thing here--when the felt is dry, it turns red (on most later models) and can be seen,very easily,  by using a flashlight.  There are also other felt pads on most Wurly mechs that turn red when oil is needed.

This little rascal is found right in the middle of the carousel when 
you have the lid open and looking down just in front of the record 
clamp assembly. It is a small hole in the rotating carousel that 
lines up with a hole in the main chassis when the carousel hole is 
dead center (6 o'clock position when peering down from above). There 
is only ONE hole in the carousel, so slowly turn it until you spot 
this - found behind record slot C5/C18 for the 1700 for example.

20 weight, non-detergent motor oil here - a few drops! Then do not 
forget the roller bearing supports for the carousel - there are three 
of these.. a drop of oil on each of the two ratchet pivots...etc.
