[Jukebox-list] Rokcola 1438 Gripper Motor

You may remember that my 1.6 amp fuse blew, so I removed what I think is the problem gripper motor. I took it apart removing the gear box. The gear box appears to OK with gooey grease still inside. The motor brushes were very worn and the commutator and insides are pretty grimey. A couple of questions:
1. How aggressive can you get in cleaning the insides of these motors? What do you use?
2. Where are some sources for motor brushes?
3. I'm not that familiar with electric motors, can you pull the part out that has the power cord attahced?
