[Jukebox-list] SEEBURG M100A MANUFACTURER OPTIONS

Thanks to everyone that replied with their ideas as to
why the M100A did not come equipped with either a
popularity meter or play meter. 

Ron, to answer your question regarding how I found the
Selection Counter to be an option, the answer is in
the M100A manual. Mine is an original manual, and the
text is on pager 10, as follows, and I quote from the
manual:

SELECTION COUNTER
(Accessory)
Selection Counter, type SC-1 may be used to register
selections made from the electrical selector and all
wall boxes.

The M100A in my collection does NOT have a selection
counter.

Interestingly, along with a Master Remote Volume
Control, as well as a Microphone pre-amplifier and
mixer, there is also an accessory called "Remote
Control Power Switch Type RCPS1-L56". This option,
when mounted on the rear door of the M100A along side
of the Wired Selection Receiver, interrupts the
receiver's line cord leading to the electrical outlet
on the inside of the phonograph's case. A main power
switch can then be wired in another remote location. I
do not know when they dropped this optional kit, but I
don't believe it was offered for the HF-100-G or
100-W.

Also of interest is that Seeburg produced a
little-mentioned accessory for use with the M100A as
well-- The Automatic Volume Compensator Kit. It came
as a small chassis with tubes, and a switch that had
to be installed on the M100A's mechanism. I find it
interesting that they introduced the M100B without an
AVC control, even though evidently they knew this was
an issue as with the M100A. I do not know if a similar
AVC kit was offered for the M100B. I would guess the
only difference would be the style of the switch
bracket that has to be mounted on the mechanism.
