[Jukebox-list] Wow and Flutter Sound in a Seeburg G, a Fix

A couple of months ago I asked the group for suggestions on what could
be causing the wow and flutter sound in my Seeburg G (original note is
posted below).
I've had Jack McGill (in Guelph Ontario) check it out, and he was able
to fix it. There were a number of reasons for the flutter:
1) The rubber motor coupling was a little too high on the shaft. This
may have allowed it to rub sometimes.
2) The motor supports were too soft. I had changed these at one point,
with aftermarkets, but Jack felt that they were not as supportive as
they should have been. He's used another brand
3) Wear on the turntable shaft bushing. This allowed the turntable to
shift too much laterally, and reduced the clamping of the record. Jack
has made another bushing that took up most of the slack.
4) Wear in the motor itself. There was play in the shaft of the motor,
which was causing vibration. This may not have contributed to the
flutter problem, but needed to be corrected.
Jack says he's seen worse cases of flutter before. With this machine, it
was not necessarily only one item that cause the problem, but a
combination of them all.
I've been very impressed with Jack's work and would highly recommend his
services.
I wanted to share this info with the group, and thank everyone for their
suggestions and support.

Other than this sound issue, the box works great. > > Can anyone give me
