If you can't test it then check with your rebuild person to see if
they will test it prior to rebuild.
However older amps (30 years or older) should be looked at for a
number of reasons - regardless if it is working or not. In many
(1950s and earlier) cases the power cord is disintegrating and is a
potential fire or shock hazard. Plus the caps are getting older and
may be ready to blow out...
So, if the amp has been repaired and upgraded previously then ask the
rebuild person to test it before doing anything, if not, have them do
the upgrades for the customers' protection (explain this to your
customer first) and then you will know if there is also a problem
with the cartridge and or wiring once it is returned.
