Thomas,
Turn the "loudness" control up, then stick your finger on the input wire up on the rear of the mech--unplug the cart first. You should hear a lotta hummmmmmmm. If no hum there, try sticking a wire, connected to that same finger into the input jack--touch the center--once again, you should hear hummmmm.
If not, are the fuses good ? Are all the tubes lighting? Are they all good? Is the cart plugged into the INPUT, not the AUX? Are the speakers connected?, Is the "mute/play" swich good, and working?
If you do get the hummmm, which cartridge is in that thang??

I have a 2510 (mono)that came into the shop today with the complaint that there is no sound. The lady said that it the jukebox worked great for years and suddenly quit having sound. Probably needs a rebuild, but then she also stated that she changed out the cartridge/needle. I asked if the sound problem started before or after she changed out the cartridge and she could not remember for sure, but thought that was the reason she had the cartridge changed. What would be the best way to rule out the new cartridge as the problem. I'd hate to send out the amp for the rebuild only to find that the problem was in the cartridge...
