Doug,
  I had a color chart for them thar thangs--but me computer seems to have lost it. They used the same color values for those caps as is used for resistors--however I don't recall exactly how the multiplier was used--I think that if you "Google" "Capacitors" you may find that chart--seems that it also had "ID" or "ID ing" in the title. It also may have been under "antique radio". If you find it, please post it.
  BTW, caps are no longer marked "0.5"--that would be either a .47uf or 474k
