I have to admit, I cleaned some of the mess out on the driveway, in the
dark, before I brought it in the house. My neighbor was available at that
moment and between the 3 of us, it was a job getting it up the stairs. I
really would have liked to clean it up outside better first but you take the
help when you can get it!
It's true, I do have more to say about what comes in and out of the house,
but my husband is the best ever and believe it or not, he is just loving
this Seeburg 147 and finds it so interesting.
Right now it's sitting in my Dining Room, facing the Living Room where I
teach Piano. I have to say, there have been some shocked faces from parents
and students when they get a look at this MONSTER that is falling apart! I
just laugh and tell them there is beauty beneath, you just have to look to
see it. I can't tell you how many times I have taken a Student into the
Family Room to listen to a record of a song they want to play on the piano.
The one that comes to mind most recently is "The Music Box Dancer" by Frank
Mills.
I think I will replace the dome and pilasters and then let it sit until I
can afford to have the amp rebuilt. At least it won't look so bad while I'm
saving up.
Jackie
