1) Coins register properly (but credits don't cancel out upon selection)
Problem is likely to be either poor connection across sprag wheel contacts
in the search unit, poor comb connector connections on search unit, or lack
of lubrication of the credit cancel solenoid on the credit unit.
Look down the top of the credit unit when making a selection. Do you see any
movement when the buttons release ? If yes, then its probably needs some
lubrication.
Also check that the credit unit wiper actually goes back to no selections
i.e. off the last segment on the circuit board. A previous owner may have
set in on permanent free play by adjusting the position of the wiper.

2) Wrong selections - timing on search unit wipers out, and/or bad comb
connector connections.

3) Pin hopping - stop switches / poor wiper contact behind the stopping
switch assembly / poor connector where main power relay is - bottom front
left of mech - white nylon plug and socket. Clean and tighten contacts. Also
possibility of main detent solenoid being lazy due to being gummed up and
lack of use - clean and free off.(This is under the mech - it is energised
when the machine is scanning and is pulled back in by a spring. It probably
explains why you can get it to stop at a pin when doing it by hand when the
carousel is not moving)

These Rowes are a bugger for bad connections - you have 3 totally separate
problems above. Keep persevering - you will get there. They can be damn
frustrating though. Try to crack one problem at a time.

Hi all,
I have been trying to get this juke (1100 record changer) to select properly

but can't, even after following the complete selection service manual.
Here's what's going on:
Coins register properly (but credits don't cancel out apon selection),
buttons latch and then start the search unit ans release as they should.
Then, if side one (a left side) is selected, it punches the correct pins.
But if side 2 (right side) is selected, it is way off. Then, the magazine
will rotate but hop over the selected pins (no matter which side is
selected) and stop after a complete rotation (like it should). Now,
sometimes (while the magazine is at rest), if I push one of the stop sw
feelers, it will pick up that selection (got it to do that several times),
but not while the magazine is rotating looking for the pins. Several years
ago, I replaced all of the cam sws and the 2 stopping sws, so what's left?
While I had the search unit apart this time, I cleaned the very back slip
rings and feelers and cleaned both sides of the search unit board and wiper
feelers, no affect. Now, maybe those stop sws are bad again? I do hear a
slight buzzing sound when I activate one of the stopping sws (when it won't
pick up), but haven't found out where its coming from and how its related to

that stop circuit. Thank you for any help on this, Rick.
