Congrats,Jackie.
I have some news on my 1400 as well.I have the mech running on 45 and all the
adjustments except record cutoff were pretty good. I have the cobras and the
idler from Victory Glass to put it back on 78 now so I'll convert it back
now.It's supposed to be easy.
Remember that chrome. Well I tried to polish it but there's practically none
left.A few spots shined on the keyboard but that was about it.
Well ebay has came to my rescue. A guy list 2 1400s and 1 1450. All bad
pilaster plastics of course. :(
If he was closer I would have bought a whole box.Unfortunately he was in
Wisconsin. Shipping would have been out of the question. One of them had beautiful
chrome on it. So I emailed him to see If I could buy it and just have him ship
all the parts I wanted.I bought it for $300.I got all the chrome trim
including the keyboard with buttons, glass and all.The buttons are a nice blue like
they are supposed to be. Mine are quite faded.
Oh and they smell bad like yours...lol.
Got the speaker.Looks great.Hopefully the field is good and the amp. That amp
is clean as a pin. No rust.
Still need those side dome plastics. Both were broken on that one also.Too
bad the mech is so heavy. I would have taken it for spare parts also.I told him
he could do what he wanted with the rest of the box.
Shipping on the parts I got alone was $100.I'm still rebuilding the rusty amp
for a spare.
J.C.
