[Jukebox-list] Wurly 2104 Sound Quality / Distortion

Guys, I'm assisting a gentleman with a Wurly 2104 that has some issues. I changed out the turntable mounts and belt and its running smoothly. The sound quality was pretty bad and I didn't have the time so I suggested he send the amp to Bill Bickers for a rebuild. He got the amp back and I went over today and installed it. The sound is better but still has distortion especially on the vocals. To check the speakers, I used one of his floor model 8 ohm speakers and wired it into the back of the amp terminals, then cut back on the juke speakers,results: sound quality didn't change using the floor speaker as a remote, so I'm thinking the issue is not in the speakers. The only thing I think I have left is the cartridge which is Astatic 97-1.. all the suppliers appear to be out of stock on this one. Any ideas of where to find a cartridge or anymore on tracing distortion?
