[Jukebox-list] Is this any way to clean a gunky Seeburg mech?

I knew an old Seeburg operator who used to simply take the entire
mechanism (rack and all) and put it in his driveway and hose it down.
Then left it in the sun to dry.
He ran about fifty Seeburgs and used to also be a Seeburg
distributor...but Yikes! Seems like a great way to get water into tiny
areas for rust to form.
Still if you blow it off, and dry in the sun (nice warm/hot day) I don't
see any real problems...dry, mind you, really dry.
