 From what Di Di wrote, my guess is that he is receiving his mail as a 
daily digest.  This makes it difficult to make an appropriate reply. 
The text getting added to the email could be the result of his copying 
and pasting text or some other strange interaction.  Also, it could be 
caused by one of those items that intercept the data being sent from his 
PC.  In that case using Firefox may help avoiding anything that is 
hooked into Internet Explorer.  As to a proper email program, the last 
time I checked Yahoo only allows POP3 access for those that pay for the 
"premium" email account.  That may have changed since they now have 
significant competition in the "free" email space.
