I believe your friend is confused. The fuse inside the coin registration 
unit (playrak) is an 8/10 amp fuse to protect the coin magnets. If the 
machine is a 2304S (stereo), there is a separate power supply over on the 
lower left side (on the floor under the playrak) - maybe that is what he is 
talking about. There are two 2 amp fuses in that unit and I believe another 
8 or 10 amp fuse also. If the 2 amp DC fuse is blowing, this may cause the 
symptom you are describing. The solution may be as simple as installing the 
correct fuse. Good luck,

Hi,

I'm writing on behalf of a friend of mine who is having problems with a
fuse occasionally blowing in his 1959 Wurlitzer 2304. He wrote as
follows:


 "The fuse that blows is a 1.5 AMP which is located on the left side (
looking at it from the back with the door off ) at the bottom close to
the coin mechanism. There doesn't seem to be a pattern why it blows or
when it will blow. I can play several records then it blows.
When the fuse blows all that works is the lights. The entire machine is
dead."

The photo he sent me of the fuse area shows it's located in the Coin
Registration Unit.

Can anyone on the list give some suggestions as to possible causes for
this? What should he check as a possible cause?
