Hi List! I am making good progress on the Entertainer. Thanks to all & especially Ken, Ron, John & Adrian (hope I haven't missed anybody). I haven't started to tackle all the light bulbs yet (My friend is going to be responsible for transportation & cosmetics) but I will be replacing all the bulbs. I now have the mechanism scanning twice & coming to a full stop (previously it was playing each record in order without stop). The trick was (As Ron suggested) to unplug the tormat cable from the control center, let the mech scan to cancel all selections, clean the connections carefully & plug back in. It wasn't quite that simple, however. I THOUGHT I cleaned the cable plug & receptacle very carefully, but the first two-three times I tried this I could get the mechanism to scan & come to a stop, but when I plugged the tormat cable back in, the selections were still there. Puzzled, I went home to ponder (I learned a long time ago to step back & re-think it.). I read
everything I could find about black & grey boxes & thought some more. This morning I cleaned the cable connection again (with fine sandpaper) & that did it. Thanks again! Now for my next question & hoping for some more help here: I carefully have coaxed the machine to make one selection (#100) (first selection on the left facing the machine). However, punching any numbers other than 100 from the keypad results in the reset light coming on. I'm hoping this is something simple as well. Any suggestions for next step appreciated!
