Hi,
If you have incorrectly rated extension speakers, or shorted speaker wiring,
or incorrect speakers fitted, it may glow brightly. However, under normal
use in normal conditions with the standard speakers / wiring etc... it WILL
glow dimly and is usually just about visible through the red cap.

my name is Luke and I have a mystic 478 myself. Hope you've sorted your
machine by now, wish I could help but i'm clueless and have problems of my

ps Anyone reading this who can tell me why the speaker overload light comes
on as soon as the needle hits the record, I'd love to hear from you. [I
think it might be to do with the micro switches and cams on the back of the
unit but didnt want to make it worse.]cheers luke.

Mystic 478.
