The amp overload lamp comes on for one of two reasons--
  1. The amp is overloaded.
  2. The amp has a defective overload circuit.
The "overload" could be either the speakers are mis-connected, the speaker terminals have a "short", the speaker system (including any "remote" speakers") has a fault.
In any case, you had best determine what is the cause, and get it fixed, or you run the risk of major amp damage. Ron Rich

ps Anyone reading this who can tell me why the speaker overload light comes on as soon as the needle hits the record, I'd love to hear from you. [I think it might be to do with the micro switches and cams on the back of the unit but didnt want to make it worse.]cheers luke.
