Ron,
I keep forgetting that it was a different era. I can't imagine any
company today being that open with this sort of information with
people outside the company, except for government contracts, medical
devices, and maybe automobile manufacturers.
Also, I forget that these weren't "consumer" products, which might
make a difference, too. And heck, I remember radios and such came
with schematics into the 70's and 80's -- even my Amiga 2000 computer
had schematics in the manual. You don't see that today, at all.
Anyway, I take back what I said. I can now imagine them sending out
the info, even if it was just a cost reduction.
