Nigel,
Thanks for the info--perhaps you should have purchased Seeburgs back then--they had all the "bugs" worked out in the "Microlog" models by then--but then, there were the SMC models------------- ('nuff said?) Ron Rich

Hi Ron,
I questioned it years ago whilst dealing with a lot of Rock-Olas. We had
around 20 477 Max's in, and it occurred on them. Initially I thought it was
a fault but was told a dim glow is fine. Anything bright indicates speaker
overload/short, or wrong impedance, or a problem etc.. However, I was only
told that, I never actually read it anywhere.
Mind you - that was the least of problems with the first of the computerised
R/O's - the 477's :-)
My own 470 glows dimly. At high volume it doesn't increase in brightness.
I've had it about 15-20 years and it hasn't let me down yet amp wise - touch
wood!
Thanks
Nigel

Nigel,
Are you sure about the "glow"--seems to me that I have seen that before,
but that the majority of them I've seen, have no glow, unless running at a
hi volume--Ron Rich

Hi,
If you have incorrectly rated extension speakers, or shorted speaker wiring,
or incorrect speakers fitted, it may glow brightly. However, under normal
use in normal conditions with the standard speakers / wiring etc... it WILL
glow dimly and is usually just about visible through the red cap.

Hi Mike
my name is Luke and I have a mystic 478 myself. Hope you've sorted your
machine by now, wish I could help but i'm clueless and have problems of my
own. I thought you might be interested in checking out
www.pinballrebel.com/archive/rockola/r478/r478.htm someones done a lovely
job on customising their 478.
Good luck
Luke Wareing
ps Anyone reading this who can tell me why the speaker overload light comes
on as soon as the needle hits the record, I'd love to hear from you. [I
think it might be to do with the micro switches and cams on the back of the
unit but didnt want to make it worse.]cheers luke.

the record. It just thinks its still playing. I checked the tone arm switch
with a fluke meter and it seems to be working but I don,t know if it would
be the reverse relay or not. If you press the clear button on the logic brd.
it picks up the record and returns it like it should. I do have the service
manual and a parts manual. Any ideas. I would appreciate it. I bought the
juke a couple weeks ago. Its good and clean. Everything else seems to work.
