Hi Jackie,
The rock-ola 1458 (from 1958) is a 120 select machine (did you notice the
title drum in place of the standard static display? a neat feature like the
Seeburg kd 200 and V/VL 200's) :) Mine is very dirty (looks barn fresh),
but complete (except was missing the back door and american slug rejector
[had a german one], but I found those, so now its complete and the
restoration process can start!). Those 2 restored pics are someone elses,
just included to show what it can look like (to give me hope! :) ). We both
have our work cut out for ourselves. Try durfee coin op or bill butterfield
(musical fun for everyone) or victory glass for your missing parts. Hope you
have better luck with your wurly (which will be a good looking machine when
you are done :) ) than I am with the rock-ola as there doesn't seem to be
many (if any) repro parts made for it in the USA. I can find all the parts I
need in europe, but very expensive due to the poor $ to EU exchange rate,
but I may have to bite the bullet and just buy from over there.
That wurly C113 is from (around 1972/73). It's the background or hideaway
version of their C110/111 cassette jukeboxes (same mech, just no juke
cabenet or coin gear) and has the store paging system (notice the mic ?). I
got it on ebay several years ago and have never seen another one (even the
two jukes don't come up that often). These 3 cassette wurlys were only in
europe originally. Mine works and is in good shape.
I love my 1958 wurly 2200, the sound is incredible and it's the last series
to have the full view record carousel (before they went to the little look
thru window before hiding the mech all together). You can still see most of
the mech in the '59 2300 series, but it goes away very quickly after that.
Keep us posted on your wurly 1600, Rick.
