[Jukebox-list] AMI I-200

Jim,
Most every "H" or "I" that I have worked on does that --more or less. I know that I have eliminated, or reduced it using one or more of the following "tricks". First, be sure that the rectifier in the "power supply" box is wired right. Then check that the 2 amp fuse (which should be) located inside that box, is being held tight, by the clips. Check the routing of the audio cable going to the tone arm--especially as it goes down, and around that "main post". If I remember right, it should wrap around the post at the very bottom, but not with the loom, which should wrap about 2 or 3 inches from the bottom. The audio cable was held in place with black tape, while the loom is allowed to "dangle", or was held on higher by another round of tape.. The audio cable also should have a plastic wire clamp, holding it up, off the cabinet floor between the post and the "leg" of the mechanism. It also seems to me that I had to install another ground wire on some of them, between the
mechanism and the amp--don't think I ever put it on the AVC unit?---or maybe the mech and the power supply. (CSR is setting in !)

Mine has #47 bulbs in it. All letter buttons are red and all number buttons
are green.

While on the subject of this model, I have one remaining "glitch" with mine.
If I select while a record is playing, there is a loud "thump" through the
speaker when the sprag relay is energized and the selection is punched in.
This morning I discovered it goes away when I unplug the AVC. The amp and
AVC unit both have been rebuilt and the sound is great. I've been through
the pulse converter and replaced all caps. Anyone have a fix for this? I
really like the AVC action and don't want to leave it unplugged - I'm
trading a selection thump for the record scratch at the start of the record.
Thanks,

Jim
