Hi,
just wanted to take a little time to update on the Jukes in my house! I am so happy with the Seeburg Trashcan. It was "played to death" during the Holidays and performed just perfectly! Selects and cancels right on . I was a bit unhappy with the tones for voice, and Kyle suggested I weight the back of the tone arm a bit to make it track lighter. I played with that for a bit, first getting it too light which created skips, but eventually adjusted it. I don't have a gauge to check it but I can hear the improvement. Thanks Kyle! My plan is in the next couple months, to order a new top from VG (Ron, it will have a head!) and get the light and the upper animation working.
The Wurlitzer Statesman, living at my Daughter's home, also played well for our "family" Christmas gathering. I was so thrilled to hear it playing again, it's just got really nice tones. The Wurlitzer 2410 and the Rockola 437 Ultra were filled with Christmas songs and had their share of playing time also. The Rockola Takeout arm got stuck after a play, but thanks to JC's help once before, I knew what to do manually and was able to free up the motor and oiled everything again very well. Thanks so much JC!!!
The Wurlitzer 2410 started acting up when selectiing. Some buttons would latch and other's were stuck. My friend Mel suggested I check the contacts in the coin Mech and sure enough, after some contact cleaning, we are back on track. The Seeburg C....well I left her alone with all her 50's Rock and Roll and I am thrilled that she plays smoothly and quietly.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Jukeboxes as much as we did, I've said this before...when I'm having a bad day....just turn one on and rock the blues away. I am always grateful to everyone here for their support and information. I made sure I played "Rocky Top" for Wes on New Year's Day,
Jackie
