Reading about the VM changers, they were used for many years in a lot of  
different makes and brands of phonos. About the only problems I have seen with  
them is hardened grease on a lever that is spring loaded on the main slider  
thing,(!) don't know what else to call it!, idler wheels, and the power switch.  
Sometimes when a kid would try to cycle the changer backwards by hand the  
aluminum trip lever slider thing would get all bent out of shape. It was a shame 
 the company went out of business. Replacement parts were very reasonable in  
price at the time I was servicing them in the '60's and '70's.
