Hi Ron,
Even though the decals on it say that it takes half-dollars, there's only a single pricing unit inside it.
I made the tests you suggested and here's what I found out...... the buttons are mounted to the key bank correctly with just enough play in between each key. When I pull the solenoid manually, the numbers latch, then unlatch when I release the solenoid. Likewise, when a number is latched, pressing another number unlatches the previous number. What I did next was put the entire operation in slow motion.
I pulled the solenoid and pressed A-8. Then I slowly released the solenoid. After about a 1/16 to 1/8 inch travel on the letter release lever, the letter came out first followed by the number but the delay was barely noticable...it was almost immediate. I looked over some of the adjustments on pages 31365 through 3137 but the same issue comes up. When I manually pull the solenoid and make a selection, both buttons release when I slowly let the solenoid go. However, with the power on, it's almost as if the letter release lever does pull far enough away to the left in order to fully release the numbers before the solenoid engages again and the spring pulls the lever back to the right.
I hope I explained this correctly. Thanks for all your help.
Aaron
