  If you are adding a fuse, just for the xformer, I would try a 2 amp., If it blows on power up--try a larger one.

I have a Seeburg DS 160, and have heard stories of the receiver transformers not being protected by the main fuse (meltdown). I don't have a meter to check current draw, so what amperage fuse would you recommend I put in the primary for the receiver transformer? Is 2 amp enough? 3 amp?

The primary fuse size would need to depend on the design of the transformer. All Seeburgs are fused--sorrta, by the "main fuse". However, the main fuse will not protect the transformer in most cases, as it is mostly there to prevent a fire. I tend to check the current draw on most transformers and fuse them at the maximum draw that my meter shows.
Seeburg, as well as other makers, installed fues only (in most cases) to gain "UL Listing". After all, fuses, fuse holders, and the extra wire required, cost money !!
Most companies also used the largest fuse that they could "get away with", for all circuits.

That's also a 24vac transformer. Any 24 v transformer that is about that size should work. Be sure to fuse the primary at 2 amps. Ron Rich

It is the transformer for the junction box. The P/N L-1234 is correct.
