A question for John Robertson (or anyone else who has an idea to help).
I just got back home from my tour in the Congo with the UN and now my Bally Frontier pinball machine is acting up. Before I left I replaced the MPU with an Alltek multi MPU and also a new power rectifier board from Great Plains Electronics. All was working great when I left for the Congo. I had been having problems with the old board overheating etc. which is why I got the replacement Alltek MPU and new rectifier board.
Now when I play it is doing the following:
When I hit the credit button it ejects the ball but keeps ejecting several times, sometimes until the ball rolls over one of the ABC lanes in the top. The it plays until after a but it acts as if the ball has gone past the flippers and changes to ball two, then eventually ball three and then game over. After a bit it sometimes works fine. I checked to make sure all the connectors are properly seated and the only thing that makes sense to me is maybe while sitting for six months without getting played the connectors oxidized a bit or something?
Any and all help appreciated. If you want to send an e-mail off list use: jukeboxpete at rogers.com
