[Jukebox-list] Slightly Off Topic - records/cassettes to CD

I've got two dozen or so audio cassette tapes of an old band I was in that are getting old and I want to convert them to CD. I'm not one to sit at the computer converting/editing files all day and I was wondering if anyone done this before. What software did you use? I see TEAC and Crosley sell a unit that will burn records and tapes directly to CD without the use of a PC. This would be my preferred method, but I wonder about the sound quality. Anyone care to comment? Thanks in advance,
