Anna and I used to buy stuff from Teako many years
ago. Many people in the area made trips to Hatch and
not just for the Chili Peppers that Hatch is famous
for. We still have some of it such as a 1946 Golden
Falls Slot, Seeburg wallboxes & a Coca-Cola neon
clock. I do not do slots but when I had that machine
restored by a professional not a single spring was
required. It still plays great. You could buy
Seeburg 3W1's for (I think it was) $25 each. They
were everywhere and most very nice. I made a bunch
of them into novelty telephone directories that would
light up. I feel bad about all that now but at the
time it was good.

Teako seemed to just find more and more Seeburg
Barrels than anyone. His prices were great even then
and all I needed was more $$$ and space. Teako had
some of the greatest neon signs but when we moved to a
retirement ghetto the signs had to go.

Teako, at that time, had much of the equipment stored
in a Catholic church which had been replaced by a new
one. I think they were restoring it. It looked
strange to see all this stuff in the church with the
statues etc. I swear one of the Granny Fortune
Tellers winked at us! As I remember the church even
had its old cemetary. Every hour or maybe it was
every four hours the bells and music would still play
from the steeple. Special days and maybe weddings
were still held in the old church, I think; everyone
was happy. I wish I had bought/kept more of the
stuff. It was a good time!
