It's not uncommon for early phenolic resins (like Bakelite) to
weep chemicals components with age.  It doesn't seem to effect
the parts structurally, but it seems to be a result of a
lloonnggg curing process (just like the concrete in Grand
Coulee Dam which is still curing to this day). There was a lot
of experimenting with resins after the war, and there was no
inclination or ability to test how stable they would be
over decades.

A similar process is seen with lacquer transcription records.
Decades later, the palm oil used as an emulsifier is starting
to leach out and form a white substance on the surface of the
record, and it needs to be removed before the records are
copied for restoration. (Believe it or now, Windex is the
preferred product for accomplishing that.)

Just clean it off as best you can and call it good.
