Hi Dennis,
The schematic for the 125 watt pre amplifier shows that for a two wire
volume control pins 1 & 5 are linked together and go one side of a 10k log
control with pin 3 to the wiper.
On a dual 2 wire control pin 1 & 2 (note pin 4 is shorted to pin 2 on the
board) are linked together these go to one side of the first control, pin 5
goes to one side of the second control with pin 3 going to both wipers. The
plug that goes from the connection block above the amplifier compartment to
the volume control socket on the pre amplifier is wired as follows:
Pin 1 Violet
Pin 2 White
Pin 5 White/Violet
The control picks up the ground (pin 3) on the connection block listed
above.
When converting an R-82 jukebox to take a 125 watt amplifier the cartridge
wiring needs to be altered at the cartridge end. On the R-82 602-02719
amplifier the cartridge is wired one side out of phase to give enhanced
bass. The 125 watt amplifier with its inverted output does not require the
input to be inverted on one side.
