I am seeking someone to collaborate on a book about Aireon jukeboxes and the parent company, Aircraft Accessories Corp. I flew out to Kansas City twice in the 90's to interview people and track down much information about the company and design teams that helped convert the war-time company into the jukebox company that it became. There is much information that I have that is not heard now or commonly known, as well as interviews with people now deceased.
The ideal candidate would live in or near the Kansas City area, or be able to travel, and have some writing experience. Photography skills would be helpful. (As would be having a brother-in-law in the publishing business!)
My background is in writing, promotion, and dealing in antique jukeboxes, and an abnormal liking for their quirky, predict-the-fifties looks.
I feel the book would appeal to a variety of readers- Enthusiasts of WW2, aircraft,Kansas City history, jukebox mavens, and techie history buffs.
My working title: Aireon-Beating Swords into Jukeboxes
I am interested in hearing from all folks that may have resources, unusual items related to the company, etc.
Thanks for your kind attention, Stephen Wright Email me at beachcomber5454 at hotmail.com
