Tom,
Make sure the mechanism locking pins are in as John
said! I always take a couple skinny bolts with nuts
with me just in case they are missing.
Yep, gotta make sure that the lower back door stays on
the machine too! Years ago I was lifting a "B" up
into my truck and off came the lower back door. It
was a disaster and took a long time to repair the
wires, connectors etc that were damaged. This one was
from a biker's estate. Strange looking machine, it
was covered with fake fur. The fur was held on by
about 9 zillion tacks. Every time I dug one out a
cloud of Arizona dust would appear. UGH!
As Jim also said be sure the dome glass is secure. I
loaded a "C" and the locks "locked" were in place. I
thought I was good until I stopped quickly and the
dome flew open and I had a lots of glass to clean up.
The locks were locked but the wafers, that are inside
the locks, were missing so the cylinders would just
turn any old way.
Welcome!
David
