I have picked up another juke.A 1938 Wurlitzer 24A.I got Jackie wondering if
I'm putting jukeboxes in my
bathroom...lol.
Anyway it is missing the 2 lower and larger pilaster plastics.Victory Glass
catalog does not list any for this model.I sent an email to Roy Dean.Don't know
if he has it.Haven't tried Durfee yet but he doesn't show that he has a 24A
on the website.
Does anybody know of any other model plastics that would fit or could be cut
to fit? May 600 plastics?
I don't think the 2 upper ones are the ones it came with. The pictures show a
pattern in them. These are solid red. They do light up pretty though and fit
good.
Also all the record tray inserts are missing.I spotted these on ebay.Item no.
28222708251.Are these correct for the 24A ? Would certainly save some money
versus a set of new ones from Victory Glass except for the fact they need
reflocking as well as my original turntable.
And on the subject of reflocking which I've never attempted. Anybody have any
tips on doing a great looking reflocking?I know I need a flocking gun to do
the best job of it.
Lastly my trip wire is missing. Can anybody send me a picture of what it's
supposed to look like installed on the mech? Of course I'll be installing the
Astatic 51-2 kit on it so I may need to change the trip setup.
I've already made progress on the mech. After much spraying of "Break Free"
and nearly a bottle of 3 in 1 motor oil I got this mech that kept wanting to
jam and pull 2 trays out and all kinds of good stuff running like a champ.Goes
through the selections in order each time I trip it.The worst thing was the
selector rod sticking and staying on the same record. That one gave me a fit and
where most of the oil and spray went.I had to use paper towels to catch all the
stuff overflowing out of the drip tray...lol.Lots of dirt and hardened gunk
laying in the tray itself.
