J.C.

I am familiar with the stack of switches your are referring to. I have
noticed that the switch in my unit does not match the picture in the manual on
what appear to be page 2512. The manual shows 5 blades below the cam lever. I
can send you a digital picture, to see if it matches the one in yours if you
will provide me a e-mail address at:

_royd13483 at aol.com_ (mailto:royd13483 at aol.com)

I will see if I can get the oil filled capacitor ordered, and then install
it to see if I need to replace all of the capacitors, as that was an item I
did not order the first time around.

Thank you,

Roy

The switches Ron is referring to are on the front of the mech in a stack of
switches called the cam switch in the manual.here's an adjustment page in
the
manual. If the contacts are maladjusted it could be tripping as soon as it
hits
the play position .I don't have the manual handy now to tell you exactly
where
to look.

The 45TASU-2 is the autospeed unit .Since the mech was geared for a native
speed of 33 & 1/3 which it scans at the autospeed is switched in when a 45
is
clamped on the turntable. It changes the frequency of current to the motor to
make
it run faster. There is a switch behind the clamp arm that controls a relay
in
inside the autospeed unit to switch regular 60hz line current out and the
autospeed oscillator in.If the contacts in the relay don't make or the
autospeed
has a problem the motor will stop dead when it goes into play like you
describe. Usually the capacitors go bad inside the autospeed especially the
big oil
filled capacitor.
