This subject of playing collectable records in a juke was brought up a
couple of years
ago. It is great to see that there are many new comers to the jukebox hobby
that are
offering input to discussions.
This will probably make record collectors cringe, but I play original Sun
45 rpm records in my jukes. In any Seeburg newer than a model B, you can't
see the label anyway. Alot of use have those models of jukes.
Eventhough I have about 3,000 45 rpm records, I don't consider myself a "
record collector". I don't pay attention to labels or pressings, only the
condition of the vinyl. I want the songs for my jukes. I am a song
collector for sure. Sure, I have aquired some collectable singles over the
last few years, but they were found in record lots I bought. I did not pay
the collector prices for any records I have.
Jim Alexander is correct about what he said about Quality and Reo labels.
Another thing to note is that Canadian labels never used polystyren to make
45 rpm singles. That subject was brought up as well.

Gentlemen:
A reason you may not find many Sun records in Canada is that a lot of
American song hits, released by small independent record labels were pressed
and distributed in Canada by Canadian record companies. Two names that I
remember seeing were Reo and Quality records.
As far as collectibility goes, most 50's rock n roll and r and b releases
on 78 tend to fetch bigger prices. There seems to be plenty of the big
bands, pop vocalists, etc of the era before rock n roll on 78 RPM discs.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder---it depends upon which music you
prefer to have.
